Broc Feeney delivered a triumphing victory for Red Bull in the inaugural 2025 Supercars Australian Grand Prix as the season burst into action through an adrenaline-filled, unpredictable race. The Albert Park circuit delivered an exciting beginning to the year as it showcased fierce battles, dramatic accidents, and surprising events throughout the racing event.

A Dominant Start for Broc Feeney

Broc Feeney gained control of the race right when evening fell because he led through the entire event after taking the prime starting position. At the Melbourne event, Will Brown won second place for Red Bull, producing a flawless 1-2 finish that indicated potential dominance this season. I feel truly blessed to race again at the Grand Prix event. Feeney expressed his satisfaction following the race by saying that the team deserved their victory and the 1-2 finish was phenomenal.

Carnage in the Midfield

Feeney secured his dominant lead position during the race as the midfield area deteriorated into total disorder. The first few laps featured close side-by-side fights between ten racing vehicles.

  • Kai Allen Spin: The end-lap contact made Kai Allen lose control, leading to early competition problems.
  • Aaron Cameron Off-Track: Aaron Cameron’s off-track manoeuvre started when Macauley Jones crashed into him, getting him stuck in the Turn 3 gravel, which resulted in the first safety car activation.
  • James Golding Airborne: A stunning moment occurred when James Golding crashed into the apex tyre barrier, causing his Chevrolet Camaro car to soar before stopping at the pit area for repairs.
  • Cooper Murray’s Late-Stage Crash: Cooper Murray suffered a final-lap collision against Nick Percat, making him lose his top-10 rank.

Surprise Comebacks

Cameron Waters and Thomas Randl advanced their positions from the rear of the starting lineup to finish in the sixth and eighth positions, respectively. Supercar racing presented supercartable behaviour through the outstanding drive-to-recovery performances of the drivers.

Race Cut Short

The officials terminated the race one lap prematurely when they made it time-certain following all the safety car interventions and multiple race incidents. The remaining minutes of the race became intense as drivers intensified their position changes.

The Supercars racing championship runs through Friday, with more qualifying races and multiple events scheduled to end in the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The championship competition intensified as the season kicked off successfully for Red Bull.
