The upcoming 2025 Australian Grand Prix has everyone excited, and for Jack Dooha, this track has special meaning. Before Alpine evaluates alternative drivers, there exists a short window for Jack Doohan to demonstrate his worth during his inaugural Formula 1 season at his first Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The Argentine driver Franco Colapinto stands alongside Doohan at Alpine as their newly hired reserve driver following his signing by the team. The speculation about his replacement does not affect Doohan because he constantly focuses on his racing performance.

Doohan refuses to pay attention to contract-related discussions about his racing position. Prior to the Australian Grand Prix, Doohan spoke with the media about his lack of worry regarding the possibility of a seat replacement by Franco Colapinto. Discussing speculations holds no merit at this point since he maintains binding legal agreements throughout the current season and potentially beyond.

Sources indicate Alpine Racing is granting Doohan up to three or five races for demonstrating his ability. Team evaluation will consider bringing in Colapinto after his performance because he receives investment support from Argentine investors. Doohan maintains a positive outlook on his driving abilities and plans to use this chance to achieve success in Formula One.

Franco Colapinto: A Serious Contender?

The Williams team noticed impressive skills from Colapinto when he served as their reserve driver and now views him as an upcoming star. The addition of Colapinto to the Alpine driver pool has heightened rumors about potential future signings at the team.

Argentina seeks to return to the F1 circuit because the country is currently in negotiations with race organizers. Securing a Grand Prix race in Argentina would become more appealing if Fernando Alonso drove for the team in that event.

The external forces affecting team choices remain outside his focus as Doohan chooses not to consider them.

My responsibility stays the same throughout my races, no matter whether another driver seeks my driving position. The entire team, including me, knows that all four reserves, including Franco and potentially Pie, want my current car position and Pierre’s, too,” he explained.

The Pressure Is On

The upcoming Australian Grand Prix event has motivated Doohan to produce prominent results during each race. The team faces financial issues leading to sponsorship needing high priority for driver retention. Doohan needs to rely on his performance excellence because his position lacks backing from personal sponsors. At present, he keeps his spirits up while he focuses on his duties. He decided to live each upcoming race day like his last championship since he wished to savor every moment spent driving his vehicle. Before the start of Australian Grand Prix practice sessions on Friday, Doohan will demonstrate his Formula 1 worth through his performance.
