The statement followed Downing Street’s announcement that Keir Starmer had conversed with Donald Trump on Monday night as part of ongoing UK attempts to restore a failing peace initiative for Ukraine.

The outspoken US vice-president Vance criticized the notion that other nations could deliver substantial security guarantees following a peace deal during his interview with Fox News channel’s Hannity.
